I saw a couple reviews near the top, each complaining about this FREE game for a different reason. This is a direct reply to those to encourage anyone who is considering downloading this game.
The first review complained that the game (paraphrased) "used to be good, but is now too complicated." I assure you, this game is easy enough for a toddler to play. I am sure many do, and do not get confused by the very basic structure. The game is essentially Super Mario 3 in different, more colorful clothing. Anyone who cannot comprehend a simple currency system neednt download this game, or have an iPhone for that matter, but I suspect this absolute conundrum is limited to those with an IQ under 50.
The second scathing review also comes from a former player, claiming that the game had taken a turn for the worse. This person claimed that (again, paraphrased) "the game used to just say game over when you die but now it says give up and that is mean," also adding an unnecessary and frankly out of touch joking reference to president-elect Trump, that somehow he, in all his developmental wisdom, implemented this change directly to the game. This jest really just unveils the argument as a personal flaw. This claim of offensive rhetoric is a half-truth and does not accurately represent the games change: The game gives you the option to continue for a cost of in-game currency, or to "give up" the level. It is not being mean spirited in the slightest, and the fact that one would get that offended by a free mobile game is literally the saddest thing I have ever heard. Sir or Maam, if a change that minuscule prompts you to leave a one star review and complain that the game insulted you, I am truly sorry.
As mentioned, this game is basically a re-skinned Mario 3. It of course is not as intuitive nor as fluid. But thats not to say these devs dont know their stuff. The controls are the most responsive controls for a touch screen based game. Did I mention its free? The ads are incredibly unobtrusive; the levels and overworld are clean and bright. More games like this would greatly reduce the App Stores trash percentage (heres looking at you, Game of War) and make user experiences great again. <--
Intentional play on words, reviewer two.
